A Star is Born - Shallow | guitar cover | multi track
This is a very personal song for me. I made a basic project similar to this more than half a year ago, and I thought it was time to step it up.
I think it turned out pretty amazing.
I'm planning to do more stuff like this, since I finally moved from playing the same challenging (to me) technical pieces over and over again, to actually making music that sounds and feels good.

Before you point it out, yes, I had 2 acoustic streams since I had only 1 camera.
Electric guitar: Hagstrom Ultra Swede
The signal went straight into Ableton Live through an M-Audio Fast Track interface. There, I used Bias FX 2 for the solo tone (a Petrucci preset off ToneCloud).
The bass tone was made with Bias too, it's simply an acoustic sim preset, plus a bass octaver and a bass compressor.
The rhythm tone was made with Guitar Rig 5 (modified "80's solo" preset)
Acoustic guitar: Washburn WD10-SCE
The microphone is an old basic beyerdynamic speech mic, so extra work was needed to make it sound okay. Heavy EQ-ing, slight mixing with the guitar's piezo output, and so on.
I don't know much about mixing and mastering, and I'm sure it could sound much better :)

A simple piece, yet very beautiful. Tone: The signal went straight into Ableton Live 9 through an M-Audio Fast Track audio interface. Then I used a modified version of the "80s Solo" preset in Guitar Rig 5. E.g. added a slight Chorus effect to match the original recording. Guitar: Hagstrom Ultra Swede Backing track: made from the 5.1 version of Systematic Chaos album, minus the guitar track

Mivel nem találtam meg ezt a (szerintem) eredeti változatot sehol a neten, megcsináltam magamnak. Egy midi file-ra ráhúztam a virtuális hangszereket, itt-ott kiegészítettem, és már kész is :) Remélem másnak is segítek ezzel! A videóim között van egy gitárral kiegészített instrumentális feldolgozás.

which effect do you use in BIAS FX 2? i use BIAS FX 2 too and dont know which template to use
I stopped using BIAS FX 2 a long time ago and I cant remember, but maybe it was a Petrucci preset downloaded from some cloud? Maybe..

I think it was basically the "John Petrucci Dual" preset from Tonecloud in BIAS FX 2, or something called like that.
Seen this at age 13 and now 22 years old. This deserves more views

Szia, értesítést kapok róla úgyhogy ezzel nincs gond, de tabom sajnos nincs... ahogy olvashattad a többi hozzászólásomban, nem is igazán volt, csak az a midi fájl. Ez szerintem még levadászható a netről, és abból át lehet konvertálni pl. Guitar Pro tabbá. Ha nagyon nem megy, írj és elküldöm emailben, de őszintén szólva jobban jársz ha próbálgatod, kevés hangból áll...!

Thanks! I made the backing track with Riffstation. It's a discontinued app, but you can find it online. Download and install it and you'll be able to isolate/mute center panned solos easily in most songs. The result isn't perfect because of stereo reverbs and stuff, but it's usually good enough!
